No Mercy? No Problem
Hey guys! No Mercy was an interesting show. Before anyone asks, yes I am upset that Jeff and Shawn didn't win. But just because the fight's over, doesn't mean the fight's over. Let's begin.
Kicking off the night was the ECW championship match between Matt Hardy and Mark Henry. Matt has worked his whole career to get a major singles title, and was prepared to fight for it. Early on in the match he got a near-fall. Good sign. In the end, a twist of fate helped him retain his championship.
Candice Michelle has been out for such a long time due to injury. She finally got a shot at the womens title, and she put up a hell of a fight. Beth Phoenix retained, but that didn't take the target off her back.
JBL is always complaining about something. Whether it's the economy or the fact that he is not the champion. He had a #1 contender's match with Batista last night. Dave wants and loves the world championship more than anything in the world. So it was to be expected that he put up a hell of a fight. Which he did. He was on fire! JBL lost the match, and to add insult to injury, Cryme Tyme stole his limo (again!) and took some of the divas for a ride. Looks like his week went from bad to worse.
The way Vickie Guerrero runs SD is questionable, to say the least. But what she and the Big Show did to the Undertaker was unspeakable. She put Show and 'Taker in a match to settle the score. And ladies and gentlemen you would not believe what happened. This bout ended in a knockout. When was the last time a match ended in a knockout?!!??! Some of you are probably thinking "OMG!!! 'Taker k.o.ed Big Show! Yay!". Unfortunately that was not the case. It was the other way around.
Jeff Hardy has never held the big one. Last night, his fight was amazing. Lots of near-falls. He fought his heart out, but he didn't quite make it. Triple H retained the title. I was upset, because Jeff deserves the WWE championship more than anyone. But Jeff always bounces back. He's not done with Triple H, and he'll keep fighting until the name plate on the belt reads "Jeff Hardy" : )
It has been said that Shawn Michaels revolutionized the ladder match. I agree. His ladder match with Scott Hall was awesome. He has been gunning for Jericho for months. Since Jericho put him through the Jeri-whatever it's called. He and Jericho had an amazing match. It got to the point where both men each had a strap of the belt, and were destroying each other. Jericho is a fluke champion. In my opinion. He only retained the title by falling backwards. He still doesn't have HBK off his back, and now he's got the Animal gunning for him too.
Well people, that was No Mercy. I guess it could have been better, but it was still good. That's all I got. Thank you for reading. Take it easy.
Some Updates
Hello again. You know, it really, really bothers me that it's been almost an entire month since I've been on here. I've just been really caught up with things again as usual. Still, I have a few interesting wrestling-related updates and thoughts, so here it goes.
No Mercy was an enjoyable show last night in my opinion. For a pay-per-view that's often considered "standard" or "average" when it comes to matches and entertainment, I believe this year's show deserves considerably more credit. I think the reason for this was the quality of the matches that were featured, namely Thriple H vs. Jeff Hardy and Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho. I guess that's pretty obvious, with those two matches being the main events and everything. Still, just because a match is a main event doesn't always mean that the match will deliver, but these two certainly, certainly did. And I knew they would, especially the Hardy-Thriple H bout. Quite frankly, there really isn't too much to say about these matches other than that if you missed the show and have pay-per-view access, you need to order the replay, even if it's just for those two matches. I also participated on the NM live blog, which was the first time I had ever done that. It was pretty interesting, even though my comments never got through =(. I guess I'll join the Raw live blog tonight, too, if I can get around to it.
In SmackDown news, I discovered that I didn't have to switch television providers after all! Turns out that 96% of homes that carry the CW Network also carry MyNetwork TV! So, that was a serious relief for me, because my life is almost always chaodic and half the time I never actually have time to make changes like that, so I was very lucky in that I didn't actually have to do anything. On a couple of side notes, I thought the WrestleMania special was pretty good, even thought I was given the impression that it would be the complete pay-per-view. I guess I was kind of stupid to assume that. Never the less, it's all good because I have WrestleMania 24 on DVD. The SmackDown debut was also a good show, and I especially enjoyed the main event and the opener. It was reminiscent of Saturday Night's Main Event in my view.
Also during my abscence from here, I managed to watch The Rock DVD set, and I really enjoyed it. One thing that kind of bothered me about it, however, was that there weren't any actual comments from The Great One himself. Still, I guess that's to be exspected considering his uber-hectic schedule and all of the non-wrestling related activities he's got going on. I think the one thing on that DVD set that made up for it was the collection of interviews and one-liners. Those are absolute classics to say the least.
I think Raw will be a good show tonight. Jericho's running things so it'll be very interesting to see what he has planned.
So I guess that's about it for now. Cyber Sunday voting has already started apparently, so I'd better jump on that as well.

Superstars Over Looked!
In the WWE there are many superstars I feel have been over looked in the past years. These superstars are so athletic and full of potential and the WWE just blows them off. Some of the superstars I feel that gets blown off are superstars like Randy Orton. This guys is a third generation superstar one of the coolest, meanest, badest SOB's in the WWE today. I think he deserves a better title run than he was givin, he is the future of WWE. Shelton Benjamin is the most athletic superstar to ever wrestle in the WWE this guy has highlight reel writtin all over his face. This guy should get more pushes for the title. Jeff Hardy how many times are you gonna make this guy wait before he becomes a champion. He is way better than his brother Matt and he is a champion. Come on if Rey Mysterio had a title run then Jeff should get one. Mr Kennedy is an amazing athlete I have to give him his props he is maybe on the level that Randy orton is on. He should have more shots at any title. Cryme Time they are the coolest tag team since the D3, and they have yet to grad the tag team titles. But they let the no names from Smackdown win the tag team title and never defended them until they lost to Carlito and his brother. Come on people if Egdes flunkys can win a title why can't Cryme Time win the title. Big Show should have been champion like 9 times already. He is too big and too powerful not to have been champion, its just insane how the WWE waist their talent. I hope in the years to come things will change but i'm pretty sure things wont. Junior Makes Last Out
It was sad seeing Junior coming up with two men out in the 9th. I didn't want him to make the last out. He did, and Tampa is hugging as we speak.
There are many times where Marvin is awful with the media. His strong stance on the team today was smart.
It is also smart for all this to come out which will calm down the rumors. You keep on talking about the next coach to get fired, and if it hits your locker, you don't need that with all the other headaches of losing.

Sarah Palin to Play Tine Fey??
Sarah Palin reportedly wants to get in on the fun and spoof Tina Fey on "SNL" in the next couple of weeks. You betcha!
Sarah and a few of her staffers think it would be a good idea for her to play Tina in a sketch. The Chicago-Sun Times reports that there's been talk of Sarah appearing on "SNL" as early as this Thursday during a special "Weekend Update."
Apparently, the plan is for Sarah to make fun of Tina Fey's AMEX commercials with Martin Scorcese. If Sarah can't do this Thursday, then she might do the October 18th episode. SNL is a repeat this Saturday

Gas with oily spotting and Ashlee Simpson is still a joke
I'm not really fat but like most people I just wanna take off about 15 pounds. That would put me at about 170. Any thinner than that and people start asking if I'm on chemo. Okay, now for something totally random: Spike.com put together a list of the "9 Most-Embarrassing Live Performances of All-Time." One of them is our girl, Ashlee Simpson. Not the SNL lip-syncing performance, but her doing halftime at The Orange Bowl a few years ago. After she creaks her way through a forgettable (and now forgotten) song, the crowd loudly BOOS her. Watch the look on her face at :16 when she realizes the crowd isn't cheering her. Ouch.
